Spain: UPA and COAG Málaga demand fair prices and greater control of imports to guarantee the future of mango producers

The general secretaries of COAG Málaga, Antonio Rodríguez; and from UPA Málaga, Francisco Moscoso, together with the president of the Association of Municipalities Costa del Sol-Axarquia, José Juan Jiménez, demand the improvement of the marketing of Malaga mangoes and a greater commitment by the administrations to promote their consumption; and they announce the presentation of a motion in the city councils of the province.
UPA and COAG Málaga denounce the critical situation experienced by mango producers, especially in Axarquia, due to ruinous prices at source and speculation that make the survival of the farms unfeasible. The general secretary of COAG Málaga, Antonio Rodríguez, and the general secretary of UPA Málaga, Francisco Moscoso, accompanied by the president of the Costa del Sol-Axarquia Association of Municipalities, José Juan Jiménez, offered a press conference this morning in Torre del Mar, to highlight the tiredness of farmers and the need to adopt measures aimed at achieving fair prices and greater control of imports to guarantee the future of a subtropical crop that has become the second most important for Malaga's economy.
