The total would have been higher, but China canceled shipments of 64,300 mt, an unnamed country canceled shipments of 54,700 mt and El Salvador refused orders for 48,600 mt. Exports for the week fell 17% to 1.08 million tonnes. Soybean sales jumped to 311,300 tonnes swt last week, noticeably up from 100,100 tonnes swt a week ago and 38% off the average, the USDA said. Mexico bought 76,200 tonnes, Japan 75,300 tonnes, Germany 65,200 tonnes, an unknown buyer took 43,300 tonnes and Colombia bought 15,900 tonnes, the agency said.
