Soybean and wheat export sales fell in the seven days ending May 4, according to a report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Soybean sales for the week were 62,200 metric tons, down 79% from the previous week and 68% from the previous four-week average, the government said. Indonesia was the main buyer with 88.8 thousand tons, followed by the Netherlands with 57.7 thousand tons and Japan with 52.9 thousand tons. Colombia bought 4,700 tons and Egypt, 3,000 tons. An unnamed country canceled shipments of 120,200 metric tons and Portugal canceled shipments of 23,000 tons, the USDA said. Exports for the week came in at 411.00 metric tons, down 27% week-on-week. Wheat sales last week came in at 26,300 metric tons, the lowest since the start of the marketing year on June 1, down 88% week-on-week and 86% from the average.
