Brazilian table grape shipments dropped significantly in 2022 when compared to the same period last year. According to Secex data, Brazil exported 12,400 tonnes of the fruit to all destinations from January to July, a 45% reduction compared to the same months in 2021. In terms of revenue, US$ 26.2 million was collected, a decrease of 49% in the same comparison. The lower performance in this period was already expected, considering the significant impacts of the rainier weather on production in the São Francisco Valley (PE/BA) – the reflexes were both in volume and in quality. Despite the significant decrease compared to last year, shipments are well above the average for the period: compared to exports in these months in the average of the 2010s (2010 to 2019), there was an increase of 374% in volume and 327% in revenue.
