Starting with tomatoes, prices are currently very low. “Both as regards the cluster tomato and the piccadilly, the cherry and the datterino the highest prices travel around 1.50 euros per kg – Puccia explains to IFN-. Piccadilly even goes from 70 cents to 1.10 euros per kg. On the other hand, there is very little bunch tomato due to the Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus, which has particularly affected this type". On the purchasing front things are no better: “Products are sold, but slowly, because consumers' purchasing power has dropped. For this reason, the Italian markets are now not responding to the need for production".
