Vietnam to earn an additional $600 million from rice exports by the end of this year

Vietnam has set new records for agricultural export earnings, including rice, coconuts, bananas, cashews and coffee.
Many agricultural products such as rice, coffee, cashew and durian set their own records for export earnings, helping to improve the overall picture of Vietnamese exports this year, writes Vietnamplus: “The rush around rice prices still shows no signs of abating. As of the end of August 2023, Vietnam had shipped 6 million tons of rice overseas, valued at nearly US$2.3 billion, equivalent to the volume recorded for the whole of 2022. Vietnam expects to export more than 1 million tons of rice between now and the end of this year, earning about US$600 million at current export prices. Many rice experts believe that Vietnam could export up to 7.5 million tons of rice in 2023, with a turnover of about 3.8 - 3.9 billion US dollars. In the field of fruits and vegetables, along with the "rising star" durian, whose export earnings reached more than US$1 billion in just eight months, many other products are at the top of the export list.
