The article highlights the importance of Turkey's Southeast Anatolia Project, also known as the GAP project, which has faced decreased enthusiasm and attention despite its potential to address current global challenges such as climate change, war, and the food crisis. Initiated 40 years ago, the project, which focuses on energy, irrigation, and agricultural production, has nearly completed its energy section but is still halfway through its intended targets. If fully commissioned, the GAP project is projected to boost Turkey's economy by 6.7 billion dollars.
