The Rosario Stock Exchange has reported a significant increase in wheat planting intentions for the 2024/25 season, with a 10% rise compared to the previous year, totaling 1.5 million hectares. This is due to updated satellite data and favorable weather conditions, including normal rainfall forecasts and potential moisture from the warming Atlantic off the Argentine coast. This surge in wheat cultivation is expected to bring the cycle just 120,000 hectares short of the historic record set in the 2019/20 season. The strong performance of second-season soybeans has also reinforced the traditional wheat-soybean rotation, offering more profitable margins than first-season soybeans or early corn, positioning wheat as a leading crop in the late season.
