Wheat prices are rising in Kazakhstan

Updated Sep 23, 2023
According to monitoring data from the APK-Inform news agency, this week in Kazakhstan there is an increase in prices for food wheat.

“This situation is caused by a reduction in the number of grain offers from agricultural producers against the background of a slowdown in the harvesting campaign (rains) and against this background of deterioration in the quality characteristics of raw materials (sprouted, wet grain, etc.),” APK-Inform analysts explained.

Thus, as of September 22, demand prices for 3rd class food wheat are announced in the range of 115-130 thousand tenge/ton EXW, which is 15-20 thousand tenge higher than last week’s prices.

APK-Inform notes that many market participants are still taking a wait-and-see approach, waiting for the end of the harvesting work, as well as the establishment of the price level for the new crop from the Food Corporation.
