The Coronel Moldes refrigeration plant has two facilities, one in the Córdoba locality of the same name and another in Río Cuarto. Between the two, they process 14,000 cattle and pigs per month. "As a company, it is the largest processor in the province," said Luis María Medina, a director of this firm that provides processing services to third parties and produces its own meat. The Río Cuarto plant was acquired four years ago and is the one experiencing the most development. There, a Cycle 2 operates where half-carcasses are butchered. The meat is vacuum-packed, and part of it is sold in a direct-to-public sales location, where people choose which cut they want from a refrigerator without the product being handled by a butcher.
