As we read in the article, the EU is considering abandoning plans to implement regulations aimed at improving animal welfare in agriculture due to concerns about the impact it may have on rising food prices. The guilty war in Ukraine Earlier, the EC promised to take action following public pressure to put an end to such practices, cage farming, the killing of one-day-old chicks, and the sale and production of fur. But concerns that the proposed changes could increase food costs, which skyrocketed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year, prompted Brussels to reconsider the plans. Three EU officials familiar with the matter said the Commission had completely rejected the proposals - including introducing a sustainable food law that aims to increase green food production across the EU.
