Argentina: With a greater presence of grains, shipments from the export complex grew 12%

Shipments of grains, by-products and oils in 2021 closed at 100.5 million tons, a figure that represents a year-on-year increase of 12%, according to private estimates. This volume is just 53,000 tons below the 2019 record, with a lower participation of Rosario port terminals, caused by the drop in the Paraná River. The greatest growth in shipments was in vegetable oils, with exports that accumulated 7.5 million tons and grew 24% compared to 2020, according to calculations by the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR). The main factor that drove sales was the increase in international prices. In by-products, a list made up of flour, pellets and expellers, shipments closed at 32.3 million tons.
