Medium Grain Rice

Mambuzi Limited is a centrally managed business with a small but efficient staff number. The staff has the duty to ensure that the company sources and export the best quality grain from their network of contract farmers. The main objective of the company is to give maximum benefit to the farmers they source their produce from. They supply the best grains from contract farmers and ensure that the benefit of the best prices is passed on to the farmers. They are a very efficient and transparent business. The company has experience in exporting to Namibia and wishes to expand to any ADC and COMESA region countries.

Mambuzi Limited packs the final rice produce in virgin polymer mesh bags to ensure long term stability of the product. The mesh bags weigh 50 kgs each. The produce is stored in a well ventilated and pest controlled environment. The order is ready for shipment in 7 - 14 days depending on conditions of order and the fumigation and export permits. The produce is exported through Kabwe port.

All grains which reach the warehouse of Mambuzi Limited is repacked to ensure minimal chaff and stones into the final export bags. Fumigation is carried out to ensure the elimination of crop pests. The company promises high-quality whole bean export with minimal breakage and chaff.

The production region is located in Zambia where the climate is tropical or sub-tropical depending on altitude, with a hot, humid, and rainy season from mid-November to March and a dry season from April to mid-November. All seeds used for sowing are scientifically tested for yield and shelf stability. They have approved seed marketing companies. Mechanized subsistence farming with modern methods of cultivation including permissible herbicides and fertilizers and inoculants. Harvesting is done by a mix of hand harvest and machine harvest on larger-scale farms to ensure that there are very few broken grains. The process involves anywhere between 10-25 people.

Rice can serve as a good source of B vitamins (including thiamin, niacin, and riboflavin) and iron. Rice is also an excellent source of manganese and magnesium. Mambuzi Limited offers raw and non-GMO medium grain polished paddy rice. The aromatic rice has a premium taste and a brown to white colour. It can be stored for up to 2 years depending on the storage facility and humidity control. The rice can be used for direct consumption or further processing. Samples are available at the importer's cost. Alternatively, a sample can be analysed at Zambia Bureau of Standards.
