The sesame seeds are packed in 50 kg PP bags or according to the buyer's request. It takes 30 days to get the product ready for shipment once confirmed.

The country's current production yield rests at above 300,000 MT. While it has the potential to grow in different parts of the country, sesame grows mainly in the northern and northwestern regions of Ethiopia (Humera and Wellega). Additionally, sesame seed can grow well in lowland/humid areas with altitudes of up to 1,250m with preferred rainfall of 500-800mm. For areas with shorter rainy season periods, the planting period should fall immediately after the onset of the rainy period (June to mid-September). The planting period for areas with longer rainy seasons (late May to October) the planting period should fall in the middle of that period, during which the farmer can benefit from both the rain and sun.

Gentium Trading PLC offers whole and white sesame seeds from Ethiopia. The company offers the Humera and Wollega variety of high-quality. The seeds are dried and machine cleaned. The seeds roughly weigh each one ounce each. They are light coloured with a high oil content of 52% minimum. The high oil content makes the seeds makes it ideal for oil extraction and cooking.
