Cashew production in Indonesia is mainly confined to the Eastern parts of the country. These areas are characterized by sparse rainfall and a long dry season, which is considered ideal for high productivity of cashew. Plantation farming is the cultivation method followed by the producers of cashew. Harvesting is usually carried out in the dry season which starts from July and goes up to November. Currently, Indonesia is the fifth leading producer of cashew in the world, as it is backed by a high and steady production volume every year.
