Description
Ginger is stored in a warehouse facility which has controlled temperature conditions. The warehouse has a cool and dry atmosphere and is away from sunlight and not under humid conditions. The preferable storage temperatures are between 20 -25 degree and 55 – 60% RH. It is important to ensure that the dried ginger is protected from rain, dust, insects and rodents and must be kept on pallets away from the wall. The finger is stored and packed in 35kg agro sacks. It takes 2 weeks for the order to be ready once it is confirmed. The company prefers sea freight through the Port of Apapa, Nigeria.

The root is harvested manually by farmers to make sure there is no breaking and damage to it. The quality and control assurance teams supervise the sorting and packaging process to ensure that premium quality product is loaded for export purpose. All specifications like pest and insect free produce, moisture level, foreign matter and extraneous matter are met by the final product. The company currently has a National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) certificate for processed ginger only.

Aace Food Processing and Distribution Limited have an average annual yield of 600 metric tons per year. The fresh ginger is sourced from small farmers who manually cultivate the root. The main harvesting season falls between October and November. Ginger has the ability to grow in a wide variety of land types and areas, however, is best produced when grown in a warm, humid environment. An elevation between 300 and 900m is ideal and in well-drained soils of at least 30 cm deep. A period of low rainfall prior to growing and well-distributed rainfall during growing are also essential for the ginger to thrive well in the soil. The ginger is carefully harvested, washed, sliced, sun-dried, sorted, packaged and loaded to ensure a premium quality product.
