General Information

-Watermelon is believed to have originated in the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa, Watermelon has been cultivated as early as 2000 B.C.E. -The first recorded watermelon harvest occurred nearly 5,000 years ago in Egypt. Watermelon seeds have been found in the tomb of Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun, and in other sites of the 12th Egyptian Dynasty, African slaves and Christian missionaries introduced the watermelon to the rest of the world.

-Watermelon is a member of the botanical family Cucurbitaceae, which is include cucumbers, gourds, pumpkins and squash.

-Watermelon divided into 4 main types : Seeded watermelon, Seedless, Icebox, Yellow & Orange.

-Watermelon can be sow seeds directly outdoors, but under warm soil temperature least 20°c to avoid poor germination, or by using transplantation.

-It can be eaten fresh-sliced, grilled or diced, in salads, and made into jams, jellies and juice to drink straight or in combination with other fruit juices and/or spirits.

General Information

-Special watermelon is its taste and texture, and from a health standpoint, its high concentration of beta carotene and vitamin C, Round , Seeded and seedless upto 4.5~ 15 kilograms.

-Icebox watermelons are designed to fit into a refrigerator, and feed a person or small family. They weigh 1~5 Kilogram and are round or oval, often seedless.

-Seedless varieties of watermelon are just as sweet, but have few seeds or tiny, underdeveloped seeds that are easily eaten.

-Watermelon was subject to Different methods of classification, depending in color, flavour, size, shape and wight.

-Watermelons usually weigh 5 to 22 kilograme and are round, oblong, or oval. They’re the ideal melon to serve a large crowd.
