Lemons are transported in plastic containers to the packing house with air conditioning. After this, the lemons undergo careful cleaning and electronic selection according to their size and color. Subsequent to this process, a withdrawal period is made to ensure its quality.
For the foreign market, after the security process, a new classification is made and the lemons are packed according to their caliber, as indicated below:
Gauge 60 - 49 to 50.9 mm
Caliber 54 - 51 to 54.9 mm
Caliber 48 - 55 to 57.9 mm
Caliber 42 - 58 to 60.9 mm
The lemons are packed, palletized and kept in a cold room at 10ºC until they are transported to the port, in containers cooled to 8 ° C, with ventilation of 15 to 20 m³ / humidity control and time of 85% to 90%, essential conditions to ensure the quality of the product.
In a Container Reefer of 40 ', we can put 5,280 boxes with 4.5 kg each in 22 pallets, totaling 23,760 kilos.
