During W48, yellow melons are valued in the São Francisco Valley. The variety sold in bulk closed the week with an average price of USD 0.22/kg, an increase of 32%. The increase in prices is due to the great restriction of supply in the region, during the period of high volumes of rain causing a significant part of the production to be lost.

Another Record of Watermelon Imports and a Decrease in Purchases of Many Fruits Were the Results of August 2022 in Ukraine (Dec 1)

In November 2022, the foreign trade of vegetables and fruits remained stable in Ukraine. Thus, due to the occupation of the southern regions by Russian troops, the country continued to set new records for watermelon imports. At the same time, the demand for imported fruits remained low, and purchases of many categories of such products were declining.

In 2022, Uzbekistan Updated the Record for the Export of Watermelon (Dec 1)

In 2022, Uzbekistan exported a record volume of watermelon, exceeding 2021 figures by almost double. The increase in the volume of exports was possible mainly due to an almost two-fold increase in the volume of deliveries to Kazakhstan and multiple increases in the volume of shipments to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
