Spain

Barley Drops by USD 9.54-316.85 In the Lonja de Barcelona, Spain (Mar 2)

The Lonja de Barcelona saw a decline in wheat, barley, corn, rapeseed, beet pulp, soybeans, sunflowers, and CE prices on February 28, 2023. Wheat decreased by USD 15.90 (EUR 15), barley decreased by USD 9.54 (EUR 9), corn declined by USD (EUR 2), rapeseed dropped by USD 2.12 (EUR 2), beet pulp dropped by USD 3.18 (EUR 3), soybeans fell by USD 21.19 (EUR 20), and sunflowers declined by USD 10.60 (EUR 10).

Iran

In Iran, the Jump in Production in the Rainfed Fields Increases the Fodder Production in the Country by 15% (Mar 5)

Alireza Mohajer, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, stated that the barley production in the country is 4M tons, and 5.5M tons of barley is imported into Iran. To meet the needs, the goal of implementing the production jump plan in the rainfed fields is to increase the production performance per unit area by 10-15%. This plan is being implemented in cooperation with the executive headquarters of Farman Imam, and farmers who have implemented this plan will be provided facilities at a rate of 4 percent as well as the necessary training. In the current crop year, 4M and 200Kha of rainfed fields have been covered by the implementation of this plan.

Kazakhstan

In 2022, Kazakhstan Significantly Increased the Export of Wheat, Barley, and Cereal Products (Feb 28)

The exports of Kazakh barley increased from USD 165M in 2021 to USD 216M in 2022 (+30.9%).
