Blueberry

Chile: Less Blueberries Exported From Chile in the Season 2022/23 (Mar 10)

Chilean blueberry exports decreased by 16% compared to the previous season. Until February 19, exports reached a total of approximately 87K tons. In the season 2021/22, Chile exported 107K tons.

Morocco: Blueberry Harvest Decreases a 60% Due to Cold Snap (Mar 10)

The cold snap that has affected Morocco since the end of 2022 harmed the harvest of blueberries, which are missing from the shelves and whose prices have reached unprecedented heights. In optimal weather conditions, blueberries are harvested daily, but when temperatures reached their lowest point a few weeks ago farmers only harvested once a week. In W10, farmers harvest every 3 or 4 days, a decrease of more than 60% in volume. 

Raspberry

Bulgaria: Raspberries Go Up in Price by More Than BGN Due to Expensive Irrigation (Mar 12)

Bulgarian producers of raspberries and strawberries are worried due to the price increase of irrigation water. The price increase of water for irrigation is about 300-350%. Farmers forecast raspberries will continue to increase WoW.

Morocco: Morocco Overtakes Ukraine in Frozen Raspberry Exports, Doubling Supplies in 2022 (Mar 8)

In 2022, the export of frozen raspberries from Morocco doubled and reached a record 16.7K tons. Compared to 2021, with 3.6K tons, Moroccan producers increased exports by 4.6 times or 13K tons. In terms of value, the export of frozen raspberries increased 2.7 times over the year and reached USD 60M.

Strawberry

Morocco: A Historic Rise in Moroccan Exports of Fresh Strawberries in 2022 (Mar 9)

In Morocco, fresh strawberry exports set a historical record in 2022, the country has successfully diversified its berry supply. Although the volume of fresh strawberries is lower than that of frozen strawberries, it is still one of the main commodities for the country's exports. 

Taiwan: Dropping Prices of Japanese Strawberries in the Taiwanese Market in W9 (Mar 7)

In W9, the price of Japanese strawberries gradually dropped from USD 48/550g box to USD 30/550g due to the many strawberries being imported into Taiwan to compete with local strawberries. According to reports, the season for Taiwanese strawberries runs from December 2022 to April 2023, and the price stood at USD 13/1.5kg in previous weeks.

Thailand: Korean Strawberry Wholesale Price Remained the Same for W10 in Thailand (Mar 8)

In W10, the wholesale price of imported Korean Strawberries stood at USD 5.71/250g, the same as in W9. For maximum wholesale prices, W10's price stood at USD 11.43/250g, higher than W9's price which stood around USD 2.86/250g or a 33.37% increase WoW. The W9's maximum price stood at USD 8.57/250g.
