Additionally, it also accounts for 27% of world nectarine exports this season. The largest market is China, where 43% of nectarine exports this season have been sent.
Plum

Chile: New Chilean Plum Variety Wins Over US Consumers
University of Chile breeders have created a brand-new late-harvest plum variety. 100% Chilean plums, Sweet Pekeetah, ripen in the second half of February in the southern hemisphere. The new type has extremely sweet flesh that is crisp, juicy, and flavorful. In order to highlight its distinctive sweetness, the fruit is also sold in the market under the name Purple Honey ("Purple Honey"). About 17MT of these plums have been shipped to the US as of W10.
Chile: Plum Shipments to North America Grow by 50% Compared to the Same Period of the Previous Year
17,745MT (1,971,652 boxes) of plums have been sent to the US and Canada as of W10. It represents 30% of all exports this season, up 50% from the same dates last year. Similar to nectarines, 38% of plum exports to date have gone to China, but this is still a 20% decrease from the same time in 2022.

Cherry tree hectares increased by 25.7% from the previous season in 2022, continuing the trend. cherry tree acreage reached 16.4% of the total area of fruit trees in the country followed by walnut (12.3%) and table grapes (11.5%).
