In W47 in the grape landscape, the 2023/24 grape season in Southern Peru began earlier than usual, but severe weather conditions have reduced production. In California and Northern Peru, challenges such as global shortages and quality issues have increased demand for Southern Peruvian grapes. Peru's grape production is expected to reach 775.5 thousand metric tons (mt), a 1% year-over-year (YoY) increase. Local consumption of fresh Peruvian grapes is projected to decrease by 3% YoY to 180 thousand mt. Indian grape growers prepare for a promising season with favorable weather conditions, including less rainfall and ample sunlight.
