Low Blueberry Prices Worry Producers

Published Nov 1, 2021
Blueberry prices continue to show lower levels in export markets such as Argentina (-14.76%) and South Africa (-67.61%). A fairly high level of fluctuation has been seen in South Africa since entering August, while Argentina only sells its blueberries at low prices in the second week of October 2021. As the world's top 10 blueberry exporters, South Africa seems to face difficulties when its price falls in the market. Growing supply and limited air freight will weigh major producers as they get less for each blueberry sold but still have to pay more for transportation.
