Prices for urea have jumped by 18% since the beginning of the year.

The global urea market began the year with rising prices: spot quotations in the Middle East exceeded $480/t FOB, which is 18% more than at the beginning of January. Trader bids during the latest Qatari tender (supply in the second half of March) formed in the range above $470/t FOB, and the final agreement was concluded at $480/t FOB. Ten days prior, prices stood at $460/t FOB. The price increase of urea also occurred in North Africa, where spot prices exceeded $500/t FOB for the first time since early November 2025. Prices for Egyptian granulated product increased by $52/t, or 12% since the middle of the month. In Europe, warehouse quotations are also moving upwards: in La-Pallice (France) prices are approaching 500 €/t FCA, while March supplies from North Africa reached over $500/t FOB—for the first time since the first half of November last year.
