Increase Demand for Garlic in the US as China Struggles with Shipment Cost and Cold Weather Makes Price Surge

The wholesale price of white and peeled garlic in the US that originated from China broke a record as the highest value at 4.87 USD per KG and 8.9 USD per KG, respectively in November 2021. The high demand for garlic in the holiday season forced the US to import more garlic. High shipment costs and unfavorable weather from China as the main exporter of US potentially make the garlic price in US that originated from China surged.
