Ukraine's Domestic Sunflower Prices Drop as Rapeseed Becomes Available in the EU

Ukraine's sunflower and sunflower product prices are under downward pressure from the upcoming rapeseed harvest in the EU. Domestic wholesale sunflower prices in Ukraine decreased by 2% WoW as of May 23rd. The complicated nature of exports of sunflower and its derivates from Ukraine means buyers would rather opt for rapeseed. The EU is expecting a bumper rapeseed crop, and EU-27 production could increase by 7% to 18.2 million mt in 2022.
