The price of chickpeas on the Turkish market increased by + 51.76% YoY in this May. Prices increase gradually and reach their peak in late February and late March, although returning to fall since entering April. The price gap started to widen until early May, making chickpeas on the Turkish market worth 0.58 USD per kg on W1 May 2021. The surge in demand can be seen from India, whose value has increased 5 times from last year. The export of Turkish chickpeas is now increasing rapidly in 2020, not only India, but a significant increase in imports also occurred in Italy and Germany.
