US Onion Prices Reach Historic High due to an Unprecedented Shortage in the Market

Prices for yellow onion in the US have recorded a 10-year high due to an unprecedented shortage in the market. The price for the Dried yellow onion variety in the Baltimore wholesale market registered an 82% YoY increase on the 11th of July when it stood at USD 1.41/kg. Similarly, the Colossal yellow onion variety in the same wholesale market registered a 71% YoY increase when the price stood at USD 1.48/kg.
