More Production, Less Pistachio Import to US

The import price of Fresh or Dried Pistachios to the US fell to 3.40 USD/pound in July 2021. At the same time, import volumes fell from February to July 2021 after previously reaching 275K pounds in January 2021. The US relies on 66.5% of pistachio imports from Vietnam. However, with the increase in production volume this year, which according to USDA data reached 454K tons, it may make the import volume lower because it has covered domestic and export demand which has increased 40% this year.
