The value of pork imports to the US fell for two consecutive years, as their main importer, Canada, exported less pork over time. However, US imports began to recover when entering the first half of 2021, the highest total pork imports to the US soared in June 2021. Poland even almost doubled its exports to the country which was previously only worth 5,628 thousand pounds to 9,359 thousand pounds in June 202. Canada still holds the largest market share of pork to the US. However, the development of the Mexican and Polish markets has also undeniably increased the supply of pork for the US. When the Covid-19 outbreak in the US comes under control and returns to normal, the demand for meat appear to be recover as the businesses reopen in the US market.
