Walnut markets show a larger volatility than previous year

The domestic wholesale price of walnut in Iran has surged in May W4 2021 compared to the same period last year. However, the price of walnuts in the US has dipped significantly during this period compared to last year. The YoY price decrease of US walnut is 56.38%, from 3.76 USD per kilogram in May W5 2020 to 1.64 USD per kilogram in May W4 2021. On the other hand, the YoY price increase of Iranian walnut is 150.31%, from 0.90 USD per kilogram in May W5 2020 to 2.26 USD per kilogram in May W4 2021.
