Envy Wines

In 2012, we decided to let a portion the Sauvignon Blanc hang on the vine late into October, increasing the natural sugars in the grapes. We then blended this in with our cane-cut late harvest Semillon grapes grown on the side of Mount Konocti in the Red Hills region of Lake County. The wines are barrel fermented using spontaneous natural yeasts. Tropical fruits, honey and apricots abound. The rich sweetness of the wine is perfectly pitched against a focused acidity leaving the palate fresh and satisfied on the finish.

Introducing the first Pinot Noir vintage for Envy Wines from Sonoma County. Two cool climate vineyards of differing elevations are the source of our unique, Californian-style Pinot Noir. The Sun Chase Vineyard and the Sangiacomo Vineyard from the Petaluma Gap AVA bring both vibrancy and depth to the spicy berry flavors. Showing bold restraint and a powerful finesse, this wine is balanced on the palate with raspberries, red currants, licorice, flint and gravel. Pairs well with most foods!

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a 20%/80% blend of superb Cabernet fruit from the Envy Estate Vineyard and Kenefick Ranch Vineyard in Calistoga.

The 2018 vintage is Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel. No rules when it comes to our off-dry Envy Day Rosé - we've added a touch of effervescence to balance the small percentage of residual sugar. We love blending unexpected varietals to make a unique wine.

Bringing together all three red varietals (Cabernet, Merlot, Petite Sirah) from Envy’s Estate Vineyard is a complex and harmonious blend that encapsulates the strongest characters of each varietal. As this wine matures, rich aromas of nutmeg and ginger develop, supported by soft velvety tannins of red berries, rose petals, coastal lavender and black peppercorns. All around, a lovely representation of the power and finesse characteristic of all Envy Wines.

In honor of Mark & Sherri Carter’s lovable Chihuahua, Coco, we introduce you to Coco’s Cuvee. This bright, balanced, moderately oaked blend of Semillion, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Blanc is full-bodied with a wonderful finish. Paired best with shellfish, salmon and soft cheeses.

A homage to Old Napa Valley, this Chenin Blanc has a crystal clear color and an upfront floral nose of apple blossom, crushed peach and fresh pine. On the palate this wine exhibits a soft and luscious mouth feel, delivering the flavors of mango, peach and Asian pears. There are also hints of dried summer hay. All of the flavors combine with the wine's natural acidity adding structure and making it a superb every day drinking wine that pairs well with a wide variety of cuisines.

Rich aromas from this profoundly dark ruby and purple wine entice your nose with luscious scents of dry red rose petals, ripe huckleberry, followed with evolving bouquets of blackberry preserves. You'll be surprised how polished and subdued the soft, sweet tannins are on the palate of this prodigious wine. A return to Pope Valley Petite Sirah after a five year absence, we hope you love this high acid, high fruit vineyard nestled between Howell Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain as much as we do. The Oso Vineyard is oh so good.
