Italy’s Appetite for Vietnamese Coffee Grows Despite Minor Dips in 2023

Italy imported 150.13 thousand metric tons (mt) of Vietnamese coffee in 2023, valued at USD 345.38 million. This reflected a slight decrease of 0.5% in volume and 1.2% in value compared to the previous year. Vietnamese coffee's share in Italy's total imports from non-European Union (EU) markets increased from 23.13% in 2022 to 24.04% in 2023. Additionally, Vietnam exported 21.34 thousand mt of coffee to Italy in Feb-24, earning USD 65.19 million, marking a 16.24% increase in volume and 76.37% in value than the same period last year. The Italian coffee market is forecasted to achieve an average growth rate of 3.35% annually from 2024 to 2029.
