Leading up to the Idul Fitri holiday in Indonesia, the demand for buttermilk from domestic consumers has shown an upward trajectory since last week. As a reference, the demanded volume of buttermilk at the major traditional markets in some of the biggest provinces in Indonesia such as East Java and West Java has risen to 10 MT/day, the highest daily demand since the beginning of the year. The sellers estimated that the demand would continue to rise at least until the final week of May 2020, as more and more household and industrial level consumers will be looking to get more butter as one of the main ingredients to produce various confectionery products for the holiday.
