American demand for mushrooms fell significantly through the first quarter of 2020 as foodservice demand was down due to restaurant closure across the country due to COVID 19. Currently supply is exceeding demand, but suppliers are hopeful that the market will straighten out as lockdown measures are being lifted and restaurants will begin to reopen.
