Coconut production expected to increase to a worth of MYR900M

Malaysia expects coconut production to increase by 2020. In line with Malaysia's Third Industrial Master Plan 2006-2020, it aims to establish Malaysia as a leading supplier of HALAL products and services, coconut as a versatile fruit can be exported to other Islamic countries around the world. In general, countries with predominately Islamic populations tend to have local cuisines which commonly use coconut and related products. It is estimated that the total coconut producers in Malaysia will reach MYR900M for the year 2020.
