The supply of Thai garlic is less than 2 previous years due to the price of Thai garlic has been declining since 2017. The price was about 2.60 USD/kg in 2017, 1.84 USD/kg in 2018 and 1.16 USD/kg in 2019. The farmers switched to grow other fruits and vegetables that can sell at better prices. As a result of this, this year's supply is lower compare to the demand. So the price of Thai garlic this year is bounced back to 2.38-2.45 USD/kg. Chinese garlic is still cheaper than Thai garlic. The price is about 1.59-1.91 USD/kg.
