Nearing the end of the harvest season of salak in Bali province, the price of this fruit has gone up to IDR 10.000/Kg from its highest average price in the previous two weeks in July 2020 at IDR 8000/Kg. Aside from the diminishing supply of this fruit in Bali, the price hike is also attributed to the demand for this commodity that is still relatively strong. Moreover, the fact that this province is also the major supplier for salak fruit to the neighboring province such as Nusa Tenggara also means that the price in the neighboring province is expected to go up in the coming weeks, as it is projected that the diminishing supply would leverage the price to the level of IDR 15.000/Kg.
