Fishing restrictions in Lake Victoria resulted in less fished Tilapia over the past 5 years

Lake Victoria is the biggest source of Nile Perch and Tilapia in Tanzania. Recent statistics show that fish production on the Lake has decreased rapidly over the 5 years due to water pollution and fishing restrictions imposed by the government of Tanzania and Uganda. The fish production has dropped from 109,902 tonnes in 2015 to 90.743 tonnes in 2019.
