The price of the domestic live hog keeps increasing making the pork prices remain high. The price of live pigs now in the Northern region has increased slightly by about 0.087 USD / kg, while the Central and the South regions the price has decreased from 0.043 to 0.087 USD / kg recently. The prices have been fluctuating between 3.68 to 3.81 USD / kg. The price continues to be high as they can be imported 300-500 units in one lot. The domestic demand. is not met with this quantity. The import of live pigs must comply with the regulations set by the veterinary quarantine which makes it impossible to import the pigs in a massive amount and without any control.
