The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has hit the wine industry severely. Due to the lockdown and social distancing norms, the restaurants, bars and eateries remain closed due to which the demand for wine has fallen down. Wineries across Europe have reported record-high stocks of wine and wish to put a halt of the production process. The grape harvest is ready but the wine industry is reluctant to process more wine.
