Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, the demand for quinoa in Indonesia had shown an upward trend, especially among consumers aged 25-40 in the biggest provinces in Indonesia such as Jakarta and East Java. In the last phase of 2019 to the early stage of 2020, the demand for quinoa was recorded at 100 MT. This commodity was imported from Peru and Bolivia, and distributed by the local importers in Indonesia, as a part of their product diversification. Still, the price of imported quinoa in the national market can still be categorized as premium. It is now currently valued at IDR 300.000/Kg.
