Turkey marks 27.6% increase in fresh fruits and vegetable exports

Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable exporters have exported 956 KMT of goods and generated 581 MUSD of revenue in the period of 1st of January and 19th of March 2020. This is an increase of 27.6% in revenues and 11.4% in volumes compared to the same period last year.
According to the Western Mediterranean Exporters Association, while some sectors and businesses are negatively affected by the Covid-19 outbreak, the fresh fruit and vegetable exports, on the contrary, are positively affected and the foreign demand clearly increased.
The main export destinations for Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable are Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Ukraine.
