In Argentina's North zone, the National Water Season tides have led to reduced volumes, particularly for larger sizes of HOSO (Head-On Shell-On) shrimp, such as L1 and L2. Exporters are exercising caution to maintain prices for HOSO shrimp, while HLSO (Headless Shell-On) shrimp are experiencing price pressure. As of W18 prices were as follows:
Sea frozen Head-On Shell-On Raw Red SHRIMPS (Pleoticus Muelleri):
Size L1 (10 to 20 pieces per kilogram): USD 7.60 to 7.90/kg (CFR) - Main ports
Size L2 (21 to 30 pieces/kg): USD 6.50 to 6.70/kg (CFR) - Main ports
Landfrozen Headless Shell-On Raw Red Shrimps (Pleoticus Muelleri):
Size C1 (30 to 55 pieces/kg): USD 8.20 to 8.40/kg (CFR) - Main ports
Size C2 (56 to 70 pieces per kg): USD 7.50 to 7.80/kg (CFR) - Main ports
Size CR (Broken Tails): USD 7.20 to 7.40/kg (CFR) - Main ports
These prices reflect the current market conditions, with HLSO shrimp facing pricing pressures while exporters exercise caution regarding HOSO shrimp.
