The National Fisheries Health Agency in Sanipes has classified the first hydrobiological processing plant in the region of Tumbes to obtain an automatic sanitary certification. This initiative seeks to certify 35 companies in order to facilitate the export of 200,000 tons of fishery products. The process might reduce the processing costs by USD 1.65 million. The sanitary certifications are supported by the "Risk-Based Process Inspection" model, the same that classifies processing plants through inspection activities in risk levels that can appear in the infrastructure and sanitary control.
The projection of Sanipes in 2021, regarding the execution of “Risk-Based Process Control” is expected to benefit 150 companies. These companies would export around 1.2 million tons of hydrobiological resources and products, allowing entrepreneurs to save almost USD 10 million. The most exported resources and products come from anchovy (flour and oil), squid, squid, shrimp, fan shells, parakeets and flying fish, which are directed to the markets of China, the European Union, Japan, Korea among others.
