The main season of avocados in Michoacan, Mexico, is set to start in the upcoming weeks. In the United States (US) market, the available fruit in the field remains costly, and the limited volume fails to meet demand, further propelling prices upward. The projected harvesting volume for the upcoming week is forecasted to remain consistent.
During W40, avocado prices, quoted as Free on Board (FOB) McAllen market, for 32s and 36s, have increased from USD 59 to USD 61 per 25lb box, reflecting a notable price surge. Similarly, the price of the 40s has experienced an upward shift, rising from USD 43 to USD 45 per 25lb box. Larger sizes, including 48s, 60s, 70s, and 84s, prices have also seen increases. Specifically, 48s have increased from USD 33 to USD 35 per 25lb box, 60s from USD 27 to USD 29 per 25lb box, 70s from USD 21 to USD 23 per 25lb box, and 84s from USD 18 to USD 20 per 25lb box.
