Bean harvest has started in Nigde, Turkey

The Turkish city of Nigde is second in bean production in Turkey and the harvest has just started for this season's crop. The bean production area in the city is around 12.900 hectares and the city is responsible for nearly 20% of Turkey's annual bean production. Last year's production volume was around 43 kmt and this season the expected production yield is around 45 kmt. The farmers receive around 325 kilograms of beans per 1,000 square meters. The current farm gate price is around 1.1 USD per kg.
