Recent USDA forecasts expect 2020 food price inflation to be between 3-4% as many products have not recovered from price increases due to COVID. This compares to a 0.9% food price increase for 2019. Retail beef and veal prices saw the highest increase at 10%. October fresh vegetable prices are up 4.2% compared to the same time last year while fresh fruit prices are down 1%.
