Canadian table potato production is expected to be down from the 2021 record. Hot, dry weather has been prevalent across most of Canada’s major potato-producing regions during the past weeks. The lack of rainfall has reduced yield expectations in PEI. Crop development has been delayed in several provinces, due to the cold, wet spring. Some growers have pushed back harvest to give potatoes more time to bulk up.
